What is the blue dye in grains for candles used for?

The blue granular candle dye gives color to the wax to create candles inspired by water, the sky or a graphic universe. It allows the color to be integrated into the decoration project, in the same way as the shape and presentation.

Blue accompanies summer collections, marine ambiances and more sober decors. It can also serve as a brand color for a recognizable range, in a scented or fragrance-free version.

The dye provides the color, without fragranceer the candle. A blue decor can evoke a season or a landscape, while the fragrance remains a distinct choice: hue, fragrance and aromas suggested by the presentation should not be confused.

How to choose a blue candle dye?

Choose according to the type of candle

A base for pot or jar and a base for moulded candle meet different needs. Compare the blue in the vegetable wax, beeswax or paraffin retained, with the silicone mold or the intended container.

Choose according to the fragrance

Check if the fragrance changes the blue of the preparations. A recipe with fragrance should be compared to its own control, even if the wax alone had already given a good color.

Choose according to the rendering

Compare cooled colored candles: a pastel blue, a dark blue and a turquoise shade are different visual objectives. Choose your sample under constant lighting, in its final container.

Choose according to production

The 1 kg bag is suitable for a professional workshop. To measure a small quantity, use a precision balance. Liquid dyes can also be measured; counting the drops does not replace weighing.

Packaging and storage

Our blue dye in grains is sold in 1 kg bags for candle making professionals.

Close the bag between two preparations and keep the label to identify the reference and its batch.

Keep the coloring:
✓ In its original, properly closed packaging;
✓ In a dry and ventilated room;
✓ Protect from humidity;
✓ Away from heat sources.

Certifications and regulatory information

This dye is presented for making candles. The requirements of a food product or applied to the skin must be examined separately.

For handling and marketing:
✓ Avoid contact with the skin and eyes;
✓ Work in a sufficiently ventilated space;
✓ Choose the protection adapted to the handling;
✓ Validate the combustion of the complete formula;
✓ Check the labeling information applicable to the mixture sold;
✓ Have any claims of composition or certification justified.
The finished product must be evaluated with its wax, its fragrance and all of its additives. A characteristic of the base does not automatically become a guarantee for the colorant or for the finished candle.

Frequently asked questions about the blue candle dye

Guidelines for choosing a blue, distinguishing between formats and preparing the coloring of your candles.

It allows you to color the wax blue. You can thus create a marine, celestial or graphic palette and visually connect several references from the same collection. The dye is not a fragrance.
A white, cream or yellow wax can modify the blue obtained. The initial color of the base and the quantity added are involved in the coloring. To look for a lighter or more intense shade, compare several preparations cooled under the same light.
The wax requires a dye adapted to its environment and combustion. Do not choose a reference just because it is advertised as water-soluble or fat-soluble: check its candle use and its compatibility with your wax. The designations do not exempt from a test.
Add the fragrance provided to the test formula before retaining the shade. The fragrance can change the color. Check the cold rendering and burning of the candle in its final presentation.
Have the dosage applicable to this product confirmed. Then compare measured quantities to find a darker or lighter shade. An increase in coloring must remain compatible with burning and be tested.
Incorporate the dye into the melted wax and mix to distribute the grains throughout the mass. Choose a suitable wax melter or water bath, follow the base protocol, then allow the colored sample to cool.
Do not consider it as an equivalent substitute. Food colorings for cakes, icings or candies, powdered pigments and glitters do not automatically have the same use. To dye the wax, choose a candle dye, then check its incorporation and its effect on the wick.
The name of the color does not guarantee equivalence in shade or dosage. Compare solid blue and liquid blue on separate samples. The grains in 1 kg bags and the 1 L liquid also meet different preparation preferences.
The candle destination does not validate these applications on the skin. For a soap, cream or massage preparation, choose a colorant whose suitability for the cosmetic use in question is confirmed.
The name “natural dyes” does not constitute certification. If you require a vegetable coloring, have its natural origin and composition confirmed; do not assume the absence of synthetic components or specific pigments. The requested guarantees must be justified for blue this product.
The need is determined by a combustion test. Observe the flame, the smoke and the wax bath with the final dose of dye. If the formula changes, re-evaluate the wick instead of automatically keeping that of the uncolored wax.
It is offered in a professional 1 kg sachet. Take the dye with clean equipment, then close the packaging. Store it dry, in a ventilated room, away from humidity and heat sources.
