What is the pre-waxed SP 70 coil used for?
The wick in coil for candle is used to equip container candles. The choice of a custom length allows it to be integrated into the chosen pot format.
The SP 70 supports workshops that wish to manufacture medium-sized decorative candles to decorate an interior or compose a collection. It constitutes an option to study when the diameter of the candle is within the recommended range of 55 to 70 mm.

How to prepare a SP 70 wick?

Define the container
Note the internal diameter and the useful height of the pot.

Select a compatible stand or mounting system.

Fix the wick to the bottom and center the assembly.

Keep the wick straight during preparation and pouring.

Cast the preparation
Melt the wax in a wax melter or a water bath adapted to the base protocol. Pour the melted and homogeneous wax into the chosen container, with the test recipe.
The melting point of the wax does not set a universal casting temperature.

Prepare the lighting
Let the candle cool and harden according to the recipe. Check the assembly, then adjust the exposed part before lighting.
Do not choose a universal cut.

Test the combustion
Burn the finished candle under the test conditions. Observe the flame, wax bath, fumes and burning time before production.
Start again after a change of recipe.

How to choose your coil wick for candle?
Choose according to the type of candle
To make a container candle, first choose the candle wax and the final format. Soy wax, rapeseed wax, palm wax, beeswax or paraffin: these vegetable, animal or mineral bases may require different assembly. A moulded candle, a candle or a tea warmer requires a selection specific to its geometry. Molds, including silicone molds, and candle holders in a molded format introduce other constraints than those of a pot.
Choose according to the fragrance
For scented candles, test the fragrances and the dyes in the proportions chosen. A vanilla, lavender, cedar or cinnamon scent does not give the same olfactory project; fragrances must be evaluated in the actual recipe. Burning a wax alone is not enough to qualify scented candle. To fragranceer a new recipe, do not automatically replace a fragrance with an essential oil: have its suitability for this use confirmed.
Choose according to the container
Measure the inside diameter and observe the shape of the container: transparent glass jar, jar or opaque container suitable for candles. The 55 to 70 mm mark designates the spark plug; it does not give the diameter of the wire. The depth, the fixing base and the place of the wick must be suitable for the creation.
Choose according to production
Set a repeatable cut length, with allowance for trials and scraps. Keep the reference of the support and the settings of the validated assembly.
Packaging and storage
The enpre-waxed SP 70 coil is offered in a length of 750 m, with an advertised packaging of 5 kg.
Prepare the requirements based on the length actually needed by wick and keep the identification of the coil.

This is the recommended diameter of the spark plug to guide the selection of the SP 70. This reference does not describe the diameter of the wick. Measure the inside of the container, then test the assembly with the wax, fragrance and other ingredients actually used.
The announced length is 750 m, for a 5 kg spool. The number of wicks you can prepare depends on the cutting length chosen. Also plan for cutting losses and the samples necessary for development tests.
Yes, the reference is offered in pre-waxed. You prepare the lengths necessary for your assembly from the reel. This characteristic alone does not indicate the nature of the coating wax; clarify this point if your specifications require a particular composition.
The product is presented as a reel of wick. The provision of feet or supports is not established here. Plan a compatible mounting system and confirm the contents of the order before preparing a series of candles containing it.
The length depends on the useful height of the container, the attachment to the bottom and support during pouring. First define the complete assembly, then prepare a cutting template. The total length prepared does not only correspond to the height of wax in the pot.
Divide the total available length by the cutting length, using the same unit. For 750 m, the theoretical calculation starts from 750,000 mm. The result must be rounded down to the nearest whole number then corrected for falls and tests; this is not a guaranteed return.
SP 70 is proposed for projects with vegetable, mineral waxes or technical mixtures. This does not validate all formulations. Test your precise base in the chosen container, then observe the burning with any fragrances and colorings from the recipe.

No, selecting a wick does not qualify as a massage candle. This cosmetic project requires a formulation and conditions of use adapted to the skin, including any vegetable oils. Have the suitability of the components confirmed, then check the assembly and burning of the finished candle.
Repeat the tests after a change of wax, fragrance, container or assembly. Adding stearin, dyes or pigments qualified for your application can also modify the recipe. Observe the lit candle and the combustible wax, then the state after cooling, before retaining the new series.
